We were so excited to get VIP Congressional Launch tickets straight from NASA thanks to my handy dandy letter writing to our FL Congressman and headed off for the launch. No sooner than we got there, they scrubbed the launch due to mechanical problems....ugh! So we decided that since we were all already playing hooky from school/work, might as well make a day of it at the beach. We weren't really dressed for the beach, but we had on shorts so that was good enough for us. We did even have a picnic blanket in the car, convenient huh? So we hung out at Cocoa Beach all day long. The boys had a great time playing in the sand and even got in the water a bit...it was a little chilly in the water but not bad. So what do you do when life hands you a lemon....go to the beach. ha! We didn't get to see the shuttle go up but we did get to see some awesome sand castles go up which was good enough for me.
